Getting an upgraded PDA is crucial when you get further in gamma. When Killing 30+ monolith it gets confusing on which bodies have been looted or not after a while. Advanced tools - green stashes, but you could instead get basic tools. Rarely depending on the stash location also in regular stashes. Expert tools - really rare, but green stashes are your best bet and the further north, the better.. more upwards north they can also be in regular stashes, like in Pripyat for example.
