Always went with the old timer rule of "get 'em tight - but not too tight". Then check them again after the engine has gone through a couple of heat cycles. 1968 Camaro SS 396 coupe L78 - now old school 468 big block. I'm using ARP bolts for the manifold, and ARP studs for the headers. ARP says 39ft lbs, but I once stripped out a thread (P.I.T.A.) at 30ft lbs, so im definately wary of doing that again.
