Recently had the oil changed and the carbs cleaned and it runs as good as the day I bought it new. This bike is almost bulletproof.Plug the EPA Gold valve or bypass hose back onto the nipples in the valve covers. Route the coolant overflow tube back up to the thermostat housing and connect. Evidently I was shifting at way too high rpm even tho the motor was not sounding like it. I read in owners manual the shifting speeds: Gear speed/ mph. 1st 0 - 12.Take a big screwdriver and short across the two big connections on the solenoid. This will test the starter. Shorting the solenoid like this puts battery power straight onto the starter. After that, find the wire that comes down from the key - it should be the wire that isn't huge or black-yellow.

Choking. You should find a knurled ring at the base of the choke knob (the holder I guess is the word) which may be covered by a rubber cover.
