To find and get to the Military Base, you will need to take the highway that goes north of the Rosewood neighborhood and turn onto a dirt road about halfway through the highway journey.

I lucked out though and when I went to clear it, it was almost entirely empty of zeds because we had recently cleared the nearby prison and I think the game redistributed the population around the cells, because it seemed odd to only see 5 or 6 zeds in total there.

You have to go before the world erodes, otherwise the random trees and shit will make using a car impossible; additionally, there's a city's worth of zombies along and near the base itself, very condensed. You need to come prepared with lots of food, water, weapons, and an escape plan.

Flood lights from the surrounding checkpoint do a decent job of illuminating the room. The final area I wanted to showcase is a single grave outside the trailer to the North. When first exploring the checkpoint this trailer was completely boarded up with a big flag on the front. I assumed this was the HQ command post.Because the location is far away from any looting points and has lesser supplies. Also get 2 generators asap, place one at a gas station and one in your base. While at the gas station, take the big freezers with ICE written on them, they freeze 60 kg worth of food.It has a storage shed, a gardening shed, and enough kitchen storage space to make setting it up as a base very easy (most gear is either kitchen, gardening, hardware, or weapons).
