08-21-2012, 01:01 PM. Redline MTL will work just fine in any Getrag transmission. If the car has a limited slip use Redline 75w90 (which includes friction modifiers). You can use that or Redline 75w90NS in an open differential. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

First, this does not apply to the 260 trans, only 265s. Like Tom says, there are 2 changes. First, there is a drive gear on the trans output shaft that is replaced by a spacer bushing on the M3 trans. Second, there is a hole in the trans rear case part that has a sheet metal plug, kind of like a freeze plug in a block, that has to be pried out.
