Plex buffering direct play.
I thought the issue was with my network but I'm able to pull data from my server and onto the Shield at speeds over 300 Mbps (5ghz WiFi) using Xplore. Yet I can't Direct Play anything, I get buffering a few seconds into any 4K movie. Not sure what's going on but this has made Plex pretty much unusable for me at this point in time.
Ended up having to turn down quality to 720p and let it transcode (it was direct play for 48 painful minutes, transcoded for 75mins). We tried to watch an episode of a show later that night with a higher bitrate and had to transcode again as it buffered when direct playing (1.4GB, 24min).The next best thing to direct playing a media file is to direct stream it.
