Looking at buying a 648 new holland round baler. Is the auto wrap system reliable and would it work good with my 3020. I will be baling around 200 bale a year with it. The 851 makes an ok bale, but they don't pack them real tight. Also, they are getting rather old and good ones are hard to find.. That said, I traded mine in, and the dealer had to sold within days. I would get so much hay up there it would get behind some of the rollers and cause a belt to start to flip. Hay was maybe a little dry, but the best way I could get a bale to start sometimes was super low rpm, 900RPM or so and decent ground speed. If a core would get started, rpm up and speed up to normal baling.I know of two sold in this area within the last two years with 8,000 to 12,000 bales that brought exactly $10,500 each private sale.
