Ive been fishing metro for years, and the only species of gar ive seen back there are the longnose. DemonEyez. Depends on the stretch, but any direction from the south over 15mph generally makes jigging a pita from waves. Generally people say a North wind is not good because it follows a cold front 90% of the time. Only three bass today in our boat ..... funny though, the water right in front of the Selfridge barracks was 100% crystal (5.5ft) clear while every area out to the middle channel mouth was still dirty.
