The Smithsonian American Art and Portrait Gallery Library (AA/PG) is the leading destination for study in American art and portraiture, and includes strong holdings in American and European art, American history and biography, and American crafts.The National Portrait Gallery takes up about half of each of the three floor of the old Patent Office Building. (The other half is the Smithsonian American Art Museum.) One of my favorite exhibits features the entries in the Outwin Bouvecher Portrait Competition.
