You're supposed to use it once around maybe CD6 to get a baseline for estrogen. Then if you used it a couple days before ovulation, you'd get the blinking smiley because your estrogen was higher than the first time. TBH, I would recommend you save your money and get the cheap easy@home strips from Amazon - you can upload the photos of the results in a few apps (free) that interpret them for you and tell you high, low or peak fertility.
