There are just too many resources and people willing to help. We even have a yearly Berkeley Study Abroad now (just started last year, best experience of my life) which is super rare for math. The grading is brutal at times and not uniform. One intro chem prof may be a total pushover while the other has 3 A’s in a 35 person class. Grades are usually on a curve, so your GPA is a reflection of your ability to perform relative to your peers. I'm a pharm chem major with a 3.8 GPA (also a premed!) and it's not bad. It's hard to really compare it to other schools since my only experience is at Davis. Every class I've had, A's are doable.
