There must be more out there that I haven't come across, and I expect there are some gems of ideas out there hidden within homebrew classes. But there's a choice here: one-handed wielding + shield or two-handed wielding. However, the Dueling Fighting Style ruins this dynamic. It actually gives you more damage on a one-handed weapon (4.5 average + 2) than on a two-handed weapon (5.5 average). So the most optimal choice is obvious: one-handed wielding + shield.
