Wifi-direct is how the the phone is able to project Android Auto to the car head unit. On the phone navigate to wifi-direct (Go to wifi settings-> click top right menu -> Wifi direct. In my case, after go to this screen, it was able to auto-connect to the car's hotspot. At this point, zlink shows android auto. I am using a Samsung Flip5 phone.
