axle identification. I think I answered my own question. I did a search over on the ford-diesel.com site and found a lot of info. I seems the tag on the axle has either a 229 or 248 and the 229 is a D50 and the 248 is a D60. I have the 248 or D60 axle. I guess this is correct.
