A complete flush is better, but the fluid didn't look that bad and there was hardly any sludge on my magnet. I completely cleaned the pan, flushed my filter with solvent, and put 5 quarts of synthetic fluid back in. Better than nothing and only cost $40.00. I will try to do a full flush at 100,000.
